Description

Validated sightings reported by avvistAPP users. avvistAPP is a free citizen science tool that allows everyone to actively contribute to the monitoring of marine animals. Available both in Google and Apple app stores. App description: https://doi.org/10.13120/h127-9v54

Data Records

The data in this sampling event resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 1,916 records.

2 extension data tables also exist. An extension record supplies extra information about a core record. The number of records in each extension data table is illustrated below.

This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.

Project Data

Since summer 2016, the invasive species Mnemiopsis leidyi (ctenophore known as "sea nut") forms huge bloom even in the north Adriatic Sea, creating serious problems for the fishing sector in the Grado and Marano lagoon. The NOCE di MARE project has created a program of observations and research aimed at investigating the dynamics of the massive proliferation of M. leidyi in the waters of the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia and assessing its impact on the ecosystem. The project was financed by the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia (regional law 14/2018, art.2, paragraphs 51-55).

Title Noce di Mare
Funding 'Regione Autonoma Friuli Venezia Giulia' (l.r.n. 14/2018, art. 2 commi 51-55 and n. 26/2020, art. 4 commi 33-34).
