What is a data centre and why is it so important to saving our Planet? Find out by watching the NODC video!
The promotional movie titled "Why are marine data so crucial?" was launched at the Trieste Science+Fiction Festival on 4 November.
"The National Oceanographic Data Centre made this video to celebrate its 20th anniversary and over 40 years of OGS activity in the field of marine data collection, standardisation, quality control and safeguard. We believe in the importance of sharing quality data to address the environmental crisis and this video aims to raise awareness." Said Alessandra Giorgetti, Head of NODC, at the presentation of the video that introduces the film 'Into the Ice'. The film's director travelled with three pioneering glaciologists on their expeditions into the Greenland Ice Sheet to collect data on climate change.
NODC made the video in close collaboration with creative studio APZmedia, which has deep expertise in scientific communication.
