‘Ear of Wheat’ to Maria Eugenia Molina Jack

The Cultural Association Vitale Onlus awarded Maria Eugenia Molina Jack, a researcher at the National Oceanographic Data Centre, the 'Spiga di Grano' (Ear of Wheat) for her work on marine pollution from hazardous substances and wastes. A former Coast Guard sub-inspector in Galicia, Spain, Maria Eugenia applies her professionalism at the OGS by contributing to the collection, integration and validation of marine data that are accessible to all. They are essential to assess the health of the seas and oceans and define appropriate emergency plans and long-term environmental protection measures.
