Description
Time series of picoplankton abundance collected from 2000 to 2009 with a monthly frequency at 0.5, 5, 10 and 15 meters in the Gulf of Trieste– time series station (LTER - C1).
Data Records
The data in this occurrence resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 1,088 records.

Method step description:
- Heterotrophic cell abundance is determined after steaning with DAPI according to the method described by Porter and Feig (1980). Autotrophic cell abundance is determined according to Waterbury et al., 1979, by photosynthetic pigment autofluorescence.
