Description

Abstract
The conservation of the seagrass meadows are of primary importance in coastal management policies. Posidonia oceanica is a seagrass endemic of the Mediterranean Sea and was proposed as a water quality bioindicator in the European Water Framework Directive (WFD). The methods to monitor the health status of Posidonia oceanica are numerous and sometimes very differents. The projet collects the experiences of Universities and national/regional environmental agencies of France, Spain and Italy, aiming to compare and to standardise the methods and to define a guide to the coastal management of seagrass meadows.
