Abstract: The reserch aims at providing a contribution to a deeper understanding of the interations between the Lagoon of Venice and the coastal area that is connected to the Lagoon.There is a new interest about this subject triggered also by modifications delivered in the new legislative settings about water quality.The historical data referring to the coastal area, will be collected in a common database, and a retrospective analysis will be performed investigating trends in coastal water quality.One of the main purpose of the study is to work in strict collaboration with experienced regional authorities even to reach a better integration among actual knowledge and experiences already acquired.
