Summary

DESIL, on behalf of Trans Mediterranean Pipeline Company - The marine current data were collected in the framework of a research program scheduled to study the currents of the Strait in view of the deployment of a pipeline from Tunisia to Sicily. The moorings were deployed with a number of current meters ranging from 2 to 7. The time series were recorded at sampling interval of 10 minutes. The data are fully quality controlled for gaps, spikes and spurious data. The raw data are averaged over 1 hour time interval and analyzed to produce spectral analysis, tidal component and residual. The data sets are stored as a raw time series for each current meter (1 data cycle of temperature, speed and direction every 10 minutes). The complete data set consists of 4280 current meter days.
