Descriptions:
FReDNet (Friuli Regional Deformation Network) is a network of continuously operating GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) reference stations in northeast of Italy. The principal goals of the FReDNet program are: to determine the distribution of deformation along the northeast boundary of the Adriatic microplate, to estimate interseismic strain accumulation on its active faults, to monitor hazardous faults for emergency response management, to provide infrastructure for geodetic data management and processing and to provide RTK services for real time positioning and monitoring applications. FReDNet is operated by the Centro Ricerche Sismologiche (CRS) of the Istituto Nazionale di Oceanografia e di Geofisica Sperimentale - OGS. FReDNet will also be part of a proposed larger program of geodetic monitoring of the Adriatic microplate that includes repeating episodic measurements of geodetic points. The FReDNet Data Center (FReDNet DC ) is a permanent archive and distribution center primarily for digital data. The FReDNet DC is located at the Centro Ricerche Sismologiche and has been accessible to users via the Internet since mid-2002.
