Descriptions:
GEO separate task, undertaken by OGS, has outlined the conceptual and theoretical basis for the development of a geochemically-based system model to specifically address the potential impacts of enhanced CO2 concentrations through a sediment column in the marine environment on benthic ecosystems. This is spin-off of the Ecosystem responses to CO2 leakage – Model Approach, Joint Research Activity Project in the Contract N° SES6-CT- 2004-502816 CO2GeoNet-Network of Excellence on Geological Storage of CO2 Co-ordinated by the British Geological Survey – BGS (UK), Co-ordinator of the Activity Julia West (BGS).
