Trieste Next 2021: Open Science at OGS

27 September 2021

“Open Science is a so-called umbrella term that embraces many different concepts, such as sharing and harmonizing knowledge through open data and content.”
This said Alessandra Giorgetti, from OGS, who was asked to briefly explain this topic during the interview “Open Science: because knowing is good for the environment”, part of Trieste Next, the Scientific Research Festival.

EUROqCHARM was brought as an example of a scientific project, whom OGS has been contributing to, aimed at harmonizing monitoring systems of plastic pollution through shared and validated methodologies and best practices.

Paolo Diviacco (OGS) talked about the benefits of citizen science by citing NoiXApp , the Mobile phone app, developed by OGS, to monitor Noise pollution in urban areas.
