OGS at the latest EOSC Association General Assembly

On 24-25 May 2022, Alessandra Giorgetti, coordinator of the National Oceanographic Data Centre at OGS, represented the Research Institute at the 4th General Assembly of the EOSC Association. On 29 July, 2020 this legal entity was established to govern the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC). The association has over 200 subscribers: members, including OGS, and observers. The purpose of the EOSC is the development of the "Web of FAIR Data and services" for science in Europe. The assembly, held in Brussels, was attended by 167 participants from 29 European countries. The 19 Italian participants came mainly from universities and research institutes. The admission of new members and observers, as well as advisory groups and task forces were discussed. The Statute of the Association was revised. Regarding the Horizon Europe Framework Programme, participants were updated on the outcome of the EOSC 2021 project and the status of the EOSC 2022 project. This was awarded in January 2022 and is expected to start on June 1, 2022.
